About Larry Kahaner

Larry Kahaner is the author of nine books, including the best-selling Competitive Intelligence, a Book-of-the-Month Club selection and BusinessWeek Bestseller, which has been translated into six languages. Although not a textbook, it is used by many universities to teach competitive intelligence to students.

A former Washington correspondent for BusinessWeek magazine and Knight-Ridder Newspapers, Kahaner is also founder of KANE Associates International, Inc., a firm that specializes in intelligence matters for corporate clients. Kahaner is currently Washington Editor for Fleet Owner Magazine, in which he writes a monthly column on transportation issues, and is a frequent contributor to Information Week magazine, where he covers e-commerce, security, and the Internet.

He has presented before the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals; International Quality & Productivity Center; National Military Intelligence Association; The World Future Society; Advanced Learning Institute; American Recovery Association; Institute of Police Technology and Management; District of Columbia Police Academy; Halton Regional Police Dept., Toronto; the Graduate Management School of the University of Indonesia in Jakarta, MCIWorldCom, Monsanto, Milacron, CACI and other companies, universities and associations.

His articles have appeared in The Washington Post, The International Herald Tribune, The European, The Christian Science Monitor, and many other publications. He has been a guest on CNN's Larry King Live!, CNBC's Management Today, Evening Magazine, National Public Radio's All Things Considered, CBS Evening News, G. Gordon Liddy Show, Derek McGinty Show, Voice of America, Talk to America; Fox TV News, Bloomberg Business News, and local TV and radio stations worldwide.

Kahaner is a Board Member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, and a member of the Mystery Writers of America and The Author's Guild. He holds a Master of Science in journalism from Boston University and is a licensed private investigator.
